Today we will cover a basic overview of the Kodaikanal Forest layout . The Palani hills is demarcated into 2 forest divisions 1) Kodaikanal Forest Division and 2) Dindigul Forest Division

Territorial Ranges

1) Kodaikanal                                            -       5311.41 Hectares

2) Poombarai                                            -       4843.00 Hectares

3) Mannavannur                                       -       3919.82 Hectares

4) Vandaravu                                            -       3051.10 Hectares

5) Berijam                                                 -       4295.60 Hectares

6) Perumpallam                                        -       7707.21 Hectares

7) Devadanapatty (Periyakulam)              -       11612.34 Hectares

The total extent of the Kodaikanal Forest Division is 40,740.48 hectares. There are several Reserve Forest areas that extend across or within the above territorial ranges which we will cover shortly.
